# Understand module statuses

> What Ready, Preparing, and Needs attention mean for OHS.training modules, and which statuses can be assigned to employees.

Every module shows a status that tells you whether it can be assigned. Only **Ready** modules can be assigned.

## Statuses

    The module is prepared and can be assigned. Open **Training assignments** or use the module's **Assign** action. See [Assign training](/assignments/assign-training).

  <Accordion title="Preparing" icon="hourglass-half">
    The module is being prepared and cannot be assigned yet. Preparation runs in the background; you can close the create dialog and come back later. The status updates automatically when preparation finishes.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Needs attention" icon="triangle-exclamation">
    Preparation could not be completed. Confirm the source is a readable PDF within the 25 MB limit, and follow any guidance shown in the workspace for the module. If the problem continues, contact Support. See [Contact OHS.training Support](/account/contact-support).
